Ask for the style, minus the voice
Name the genre and add instrumental: the same prompt that would summon a singer now puts the melody in the keys, the strings, or the lead synth. Say which instrument should take the vocal part.

Any style, minus the vocal — backing tracks from the AI Instrumental Music Generator
Name the style you want without a voice — cinematic ballad, upbeat pop, jazz-tinted backdrop — and the AI Instrumental Music Generator returns full arrangements where the instruments carry the melody instead of waiting for a singer. Compare takes by whether the arrangement holds your attention alone.
Give the arrangement a job
Background for focus, a backing track for practice, a karaoke-style bed for singing over — the job changes how busy the arrangement should be. State the use, not just the style.
Listen for the topline gap
If you plan to play or sing over it, check that the mid-range leaves a lane open. If it is pure listening music, check that the instruments never sound like they are waiting for a verse.
Adapt the tempo to the use
Practice tracks benefit from slightly slowed versions; focus beds want fewer changes. Rerun the same piece at two speeds and keep both.
What should a prompt include for the AI Instrumental Music Generator?
Style, lead instrument, and use: "instrumental pop ballad, 92 BPM, piano carries the melody, light strings and drums, for a video montage." Naming which instrument sings the melody is the single most useful line in the prompt.
How do you judge instrumental music meant to stand in for a song?
The arrangement has to do the vocalist job: state a melody, repeat it, vary it, end it. If after a minute you keep expecting a voice to enter, ask for a stronger melodic lead and more arrangement movement.
