An Accessibility Evaluation of Screen Reader Support for Modern Progressive Web Applications Used by Visually Impaired Students
Progressive web applications (PWAs) can combine browser delivery with capabilities such as offline access and installation. This research plan examines whether one or two selected educational PWAs expose usable information and controls to blind or low-vision students using a screen reader. It combines a standards-based technical audit with bounded user task testing, while treating the results as evidence about only the tested applications, tasks, devices, and versions. The proposed study will document its environment and evaluation criteria before data collection and will not equate automated checks or selected success criteria with complete accessibility or legal conformance.
